WHO I AM
My name is Shannon Moroney, also known as Handsdown, and I'm based in Melbourne, Australia. Over the past 15 years, I’ve had the privilege of DJing at festivals and clubs across Australia, as well as in Europe, South America, and New Zealand.
In that time, I’ve launched a record label and events brand, and collaborated with numerous festivals on marketing, artist services, touring, and logistics. My passion for music, mixing, and producing remains as strong as ever, and I’m deeply immersed in this vibrant world of art and creativity.
Now, it’s my turn to give back to the community that has given me so much. I’m excited to invite you to join me at the Handsdown DJ Academy, where you can learn from my 15 years of experience in just 6 weeks.

MISSION
My goal with this project is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can develop your skills across all aspects of the craft to reach your goals. Whether you're aiming to perform at clubs and festivals, mix music at house parties, or simply experiment in your own space, my mission is to equip you with the tools, insights, and knowledge I've gained from well over a decade in the music industry.
STUDIO
The course will be held at my studio, Melbourne, Australia.
This room is sound treated and equipped with a brand new Pioneer XDJ-XZ controller, a great DJ console and the closest all-in-one machine to a club standard CDJ 3000 set up as well as LD Systems Dave 8XS 2.1 Split PA System 1400W for monitoring, supplied by DJ City.
This setup ensures that students can practice and learn using the same equipment found in clubs and festivals here and around the world.
